Upon reaching the inn, Ruby presses past the throng of people to get to the adventurer's table. They'd been spending so much time here, they'd been able to lay claim to one of the tables. If they hadn't been so useful before, she'd have thought them just a bunch of drunks.
Finally she presses past the last of the bar patrons to find the table occupied, but not by those she had expected. Instead a single man sat at the table. His eyes raised up as she halted, wishing she had never entered that bar today.
"Hello Ruby." The man whispers, his eyes meeting hers. They were black, the entirety of them. No whites at all, but yet the remaining features were human. At least that's how anyone else would describe him, but not Ruby. His skin shimmered, like Onyx under a hot sun. She knew what lay beneath the skin.
It was a painstaking 30 minutes before she walked away from the table. Her timeline had been increased. She didn't know if he was onto her plans yet, but he knew that she was the one behind the changes in the city. This was, of course, perfect.
Then, glass shattered as she remembered why she had hurried back here. She needed to save the blacksmith. A hand grabbed her as she exited the bar, it was Semael.
"Semael! Anders is in trouble! He's got a tail. I need you to take care of it."
